Care4kids After School and Holiday Club

At Care4kids After School Club children do most of their own planning, writing down their activitiy ideas, places they would like to visit and choosing the healthy snacks and suppers they enjoy and like eating. We offer help with homework and have staff members assisting with this being on hand should the children need guidance. We offer a pick up service from Challock, Charing and Pluckley Primary Schools.

It is run in a home environemnt where children can relax after a day at school or they are able to choose from our wide range of resources to play. We have a large garden with an outdoor classroom for children to use and in addition we have a Forrest School area for children to explore and learn skills.

Special Needs Support

Through observation and play our trained team will support your child.

We have a setting SENCO (Special education needs Co-Ordinator) that will have relevant training and information to support the play worker, children and families to ensure individual needs are met.

Our Senco is Amber Gilbert. Her role is to work closely with the play worker to provide resources, experiences and activities, which are relevant to your child’s individual needs and ensure inclusiveness of all children. Personal plans will be provided for children in need of extra support, which are based around their individual needs and interests.

The SENCO will liaise with other professionals and outside agencies (with parents consent) to gain further advice in supporting each individual child. The SENCO and key person will work together to ensure targets and strategies are implemented. The key person, SENCO and the parents will regularly review and update personal plans.

Your child will be allocated a key person and they will use a small exercise book and Babysdays to communicate with you and to keep you informed of your child's time at the setting, achievements etc.

For those children who need extra support, and are on a targeted or personalised plan, additional targets are set and worked towards following the best practise guidance.

Care4Kids also work closely and liaise with other professionals for help and guidance with best supporting each and every child’s individual needs.

As stated above, we use the Best Practise Guidance Handbook for teaching strategies. We also liaise with outside agencies and professionals for strategies.

Care4kids work together with other agencies and professionals to set additional targets personalised to the individual child. These are recorded on personalised plans and reviewed and updated every 6 weeks with key person, Senco and parents/carers. Care4Kids also welcome outside agencies and professionals who may be working with your child, into the setting to see the child in their setting and liaise with their key person.

Your child will be allocated a key person and they will use a small exercise book and Babysdays to communicate with you and to keep you informed of your child's time at the setting, achievements etc.

Care4kids are very passionate about including all children in the setting. Trips, activities and everyday tasks are adapted to include all children. We have an equal opportunities policy available for your viewing that we work closely to. It is the role of the play worker and Senco to work together to ensure children with additional needs or SEND are included.

Care4kids has wheelchair access into the building to accommodate children with mobility difficulties/ wheelchair users.

We work closely with our local Primary schools. A Transition Report will be shared with you and with the school, if needed a Transition Meeting will be arranged with the child's class teacher and the school’s Senco. Teachers are invited into our setting prior to your child leaving our setting and starting their new school/setting.

Our setting works closely with outside professionals and keep up to date with relevant training, to ensure we are providing the most effective and up to date care. We hold regular meetings with parents and attend LIFT forums for support and guidance.

Please contact the owner – Rachelle Riley.

These points are all covered in our Policies and Procedures documentation; these are updated regularly and are available for parents to read within the setting

Parents are always welcomed and invited to leave their feedback, including complaints and compliments either face to face, or via our parents Facebook page or their Babysdays profile.
