Aylesford Pre-School

We are a small pre-school in the heart of Aylesford Village and are are based in the football pavilion. The pre-school is jointly owned by Wendy and Claire who both have many years experience in the early years sector and have attained early years degrees to enhance their experience.

The setting  opened in September 2019 and is  term-time only, offering morning and afternoon sessions, with the option of a lunch club.

We offer up to 20 places per session and take children from two years old and accept the 2,3 and 4 year old funding. There are also non-funded places available and the setting can offer 30 hours to the families that are able to claim the additional 15 hours.

Notes

The setting consists of one main room, with a small adjoining kitchen. There is access to two adult toilets and a disabled toilet. The disabled toilet also functions as a changing area with a changing table.

The building faces onto the football fields and there is a fenced off area for the pre-school to use.

There is plenty of parking available as the building is in the same grounds as the community centre and so share their carpark.

Special Needs Support

The setting works closely with parents to support children and uses their knowledge of the child, alongside indepth training and outside agencies to identify any additional needs.

As a small setting we work very closely with our families and share information on a daily basis. Parents will be involved in their childs development through an on-line learning journal. This will include the childs next steps and allows parents to contribute to the journal offering two way communication regarding the childs development and well being. Parent evenings are held three times a year, allowing parents an allocated time with their childs key person.

Parents are also welcome to come and talk to the owners or their childs key person at any time.

The setting supports each child as an individual, planning to ensure that their needs are met and reviewed constantly. As a pack away the environment can be adapted on a daily basis to provide a safe and exciting environment for all the children.

We adapt the teaching strategies according to the individual needs of the child. The setting undertakes any support or training required and works closely with outside agencies.

The setting will assess each childs needs and provide the support required to ensure the child needs are met.

This may include additional resources, Makaton or further training for practitioners.

The childs keyperson carries out regular observations and uses this information to plan activities to support your childs learning and development.

This is recorded on an on-line learning journal for parents to access at any time, with the opportunity to respond or add their own observations. This provides a rounded picture of the childs develoment.

Parent evenings and regular feedback also ensures that parents feel informed and involved in their childs life at pre-school.

The setting works hard to ensure that all the children are included in the activities available and will adapt them according to the individual childs needs.

The building is on one level and is accessible to children in wheelchairs and with mobility problems.

The building has a disabled toilet.

The setting works closely with the local schools to ensure a smooth transition for the children.

The setting is fairly new and is constantly evaluating its provision, reviewing and improving its environment and practice to support its children. Feedback from parents is always appreciated taken into consideration.

Please contact the setting directly

The setting encourages parents to feedback any views by having an open door policy, anonymous questionnaires are also available at certain times throughout the year.
