Description

Special needs support

Special Needs Support

Before your child starts my setting you will receive an all about me form, this will then help me to have an idea of where your child is developing at and what support they may need.

The all about me form will contain information of your childs interests at home so i can continue to plan actives here of that is of interest to your child.

i am constantly observing your child while they play. This then helps me to plan next steps and help them work towards there goals.

when your child turns 2 I do a progress check on there development.

I talk to parents on collection or via whatsApp every day about what your child has been doing in my care.

if you prefer to have a sit down chat about how your child can be supported we can arrange a time that is convenient for us both.

we will work together on any planning that gets put in place.

The early years foundation stage is a a statutory framework which i use to help with plan for your childs learning and development.

I always cover the 3 main areas of learning in our activities,

communication and language - which can be adapted to suit your childs needs

Personal, social and emotional development

Physical development - children have access to outdoors everyday as well as resources indoors. I can adapt my setting to the individaul needs of your child.

As i am a small setting i am able to ensure that the activities are suitable for all the children in my care and that all the children will continue to reach there greatest learning and development.

I can take further courses and training to make sure i can provide the best care for your child.

Being a small setting i am able to offer more 1 on 1 time, i am always taking, listening and watching your children play. i send parents photos and messages of how there progress is doing and parents are able to continue at home.

I make sure any outings will be suitable for all the children i have in my care that day so no child is excluded.

My building is not wheelchair friendly

I have books on starting a new school which i read to children about to start school, this then gives your child chance to talk about the story and how they feel about starting school and giving them lots of reassurance.

parents are able to view the setting before starting.

parents can complete questionnaire every year.

Myself Victoria Chant

I always welcome any feedback from parents if there are any concerns.

I have a compliments and complaints policy which all parents receive a copy should you feel a complaint is needed.
