Applegate Tuition- Autism and SEN home support

Applegate Tuition offers support for children and young people who experience anxiety about attending school or who have not yet secured a school place. I am a qualified teacher with many years' senior management experience in special schools and I recognise that children who are suffering from school phobia or who are presently not placed in school can become increasingly isolated and fearful. I provide stepping stones to support their return to school.

I will work with the child in their home, building a relationship and developing trust. I use the interests of the child to build a programme of activities which will encourage them to develop individual projects which will link to educational trips, social skills and build on literacy and numeracy skills. I will support a gradual return to the classroom which will be led by the child's ability to manage their anxiety and in close communication with the school.
