East Kent Mencap - William House

A 24/7 supported living unit, William House provides the first stage in a targeted programme aimed at reducing the individual’s dependency on services. It is suitable for people with learning disabilities over the age of 18, with good mobility, who wish to achieve greater independence, but need support to gain the skills required.

William House will enable people to gain the skills and confidence to reduce their dependency. When the person is ready they will then be supported to move on to appropriate accommodation where they can be more independent and self-reliant whilst reducing their agreed support packages.

We work in partnership with individuals, families and Care Managers to develop support packages tailored to individual’s assessed needs. Using a person centred approach, we support tenants to identify and achieve their wants, wishes, needs and aspirations for the future.

With staff on hand 24 hours a day at William House, families can be assured that support is available at all times.

In addition, all tenants can easily access the wide range of free or low cost clubs and groups which East Kent Mencap provide

Notes: Located in Cliftonville, William House is part of a larger East Kent Mencap complex, giving tenants easy access to our other services including Resource Hub and Social Club. William House is close to shops and amenities as well as the beach. The Loop Bus stops right outside.
