Description

Jumping Jacks follow all SEND policies and procedures set by KCC and setting. We treat all individuals as equals and work on there individual need and working with outside agencies.

Special Needs Support

Information from parents on the registration documents and through observations in play. Using outside agencies for added support and work with parents to support their child.

Your child’s key person will use Tapestry, and every Friday you will be sent your child documents observations, photos and videos of your child’s progress. At the end of each term you will be sent an end of term report on your child’s achievements and what will be set for their next steps. Also through tapestry the parents will be involved from their child key person on what they will be working on each week.

Your child will have a key person and the deputy will oversee their work and the manager will go review it and send the report to you every Friday on what your child has achieved in the week.  Staff meeting are held, and staff supervisions are held every term to discuss any problems or issues within the rooms.  Planes are put in place to rectified these.

Each child through play will be monitored by there key person on there achievements and any areas where they have achieved new skills will be discussed by the key person and parents and the EYFS will be used as a guidance.

All childrens achievements are logged on tapestry and shared once a week with the parents.

The childs key person completes end of term reports on the childrens achievements and what they need to work on which supports teaching new skills for their key children.

We signpost parents in the right direction for extra support.

As above parents are invited along to meet with outside agencies to plan next steps for the child concerned.

The key person will monitor children’s progress every week through observations, and this is liked into Tapestry using the EYFS, Well-being & Involvement (Leuven) and Every Child a Talker (ECAT).  This is passed on to parents weekly and there is a comment box where parents can send messages to their child’s key person at any time. We also have an open-door policy where parents can come into the setting at any time.

We include all children in our activities and if and when children need more support and we can offer this then we will do all we can to ensure all children are included.

Our building is accessible for the children and parents to fully access us, we have a ramp to the entrance. The garden has access from the side.

We invite the local schools to come and visit the children in the setting and we have been invited to some local schools for story and play time.

The last term of school we use old school uniforms and bags and set up the room like one of the local schools, so the children can see what the uniform looks like and some of our schools have sent us pictures of the class rooms and outside space where children will play.

Parents are involved at all stages of discussions and planning along with the key person SENCo and outside agencies.
