My name is Lisa and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live in Edenbridge with my Fiance and 2 children, we are walking distance to both train stations which is great for commuting.
I used to juggle 3 jobs as well as being a parent, my children went to an excellent childminder, she made me realise how important a good minder's role is in a child's life. I understand how hard it is juggling work with children and I want to offer a child a warm and welcoming place they will be cherished whilst they are not with their parents. The children who I look after are welcomed as members of my family who are cherished, respected, protected and supported in all areas.
I am lucky to live within seconds of the local recreation ground which I utilise to it's full potential. I also do regular visits to local parks, Limpsfield common, Staffhurst woods, Toys Hill, local children's groups as well as many more. I enjoy taking the children to the library and they love being a Librarian whilst they are there! I have a very child orientated home with lot's of toys and resources. I enjoy doing lots of arts and crafts with the children.
I offer Forest Childcare and I'm a registered member of The Forest Childcare Association. We spend lot's of time in the woods looking at wildlife, making dens and having lots of woodland fun.
I became a childminder because I am passionate about children's care, learning and development and also because I love being part of their world.

- Description
I welcome children of all abilities and will cater for any specific areas that need support. I am an inclusive setting and all children are cherished.
Special Needs Support
How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
I continuously monitor and observe the children in my care using the EYFS. I provide regular reports on the children’s development. I also complete a 2 year check which is a mandatory assessment
When a child starts I ask you to complete an all about me form which allows me to get to know your child. Within the first 6 weeks I will record your child’s starting points.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
I will work with your child closely and work in partnership with parents. I use daily informal contact, daily diaries, continuous monitoring and observations using the EYFS and parents are welcome to contact me any time with any worries or concerns.
i use an online system so parents can log in at any time to see how their child is doing.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
Using the EYFS I will plan for your child, I observe, assess and plan for your child using the 3 prime areas and 4 specific areas.
What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
I cater for children of all abilities and will change teaching styles accordingly. I like to follow children’s interests with lots of outdoor activities and spontaneity. I provide a language rich environment and support children to find their way in the world and help them to be confident and happy learners.
What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
If I feel a child isn’t making progress through the EYFS I will discuss with you my concerns and what actions could help. With your permission I will refer your child to outside agencies accordingly.
How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
I work closely with parents and pride myself on the relationship I have with the children. I cherish every child in my care and am always open and honest. I continuously monitor children and record using the online system which you will be able to log into at any time.
How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
I adapt and tailor my activities and outings ensuring all children in my care can take part.
How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
I have ramp access to the front of the property but unfortunately not at the back to access the outdoor space. My house is very small and wheelchair access would be quite tricky but i am always open to suggestions of adaptions that will help.
I have a car car park outside meaning parents can park close to the property and I have a downstairs toilet and sink.
How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
If requested I am happy to meet with teachers and also to do visits to the school. With permission I will pass on relevant paperwork such as the 2 year check and reports.
How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
I ask parents to complete an annual questionnaire, I review my training and take courses where possible and I welcome open communication from parents and other people involved in the child’s care.
Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?
Please contact myself and we can arrange a meeting.
What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?
I use an annual questionnaire and I am welcoming of regular communication with parents and I am always open to constructive feedback. All my policies are available on the online system that parents can view anytime.
