Description

We work in coordination with our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) policy. We also keep updated on the most current legislation to assist with providing an adequate environment for children with SEND needs.

Special Needs Support

As a setting, we are continuously observing the children and adapting our environment to aide all children with access to their best first steps in their learning and development. We have a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), who commits to the following of the most recent policies and procedure.

All staff are trained and made aware of needs of individual children.

If parents/carers have any concerns regarding their child, then an open line of communication is key to our working practice. Parents/carers can talk to any member of staff and highlight any concerns that will then be dealt with in the correct means.

Parents/carers will be given the opportunity to meet with their child's key person, in which discussions can be held regarding learning and development. Attendance of meetings, such as LIFT or meetings with specialist teachers will be feedback to parents.

Each child is assigned a key worker, a unique learning environment can then be implemented to aide the children to achieve at their fullest potential.

Training is provided to all staff and the SENCo works closely with all staff to provide them with the knowledge that is needed to provide the suitable teaching techniques to overcome difficulties.
