We are a very active society, with over 2,000 enthusiastic family historians, based in Kent and further afield, across the UK as well as globally. Kent Family History Society is in fact the largest society of its type in the county and is now 47 years old, having been established in 1974.
Our members have many opportunities to interact with the Society and fellow members, most obviously through our regular branch meetings, held across Kent. Most months of the year, talks from a wide range of fascinating speakers are hosted in Ashford, Canterbury, Deal, Maidstone, Medway and Thanet. While members tend to visit their local branch, they are welcome to attend any branch event. These meetings aren't closed to members as we are delighted to welcome non-members to talks for just a nominal admission fee.
