Be Seen, Be Heard campaigning group - Sittingbourne

Be Seen, Be Heard is a campaigning and awareness raising group.

We develop presentations around attitudes towards people with learning difficulties/disabilities.  We visit schools and other community group and give our presentation/workshops

We are people with and without learning difficulties/disabilities and as part of our work we are supported to gain confidence and skills for life and accessing work Eg. admin, communication, presentations, organisation, planning.

We work with children and young people to explore and learnour impact on the world including people, planet and animals!

We offer 3 workshops:

How we want to be Treated: This is a presentation/workshop about how we want to be treated equally and fairly. It is a chance to get to know us and our achievements.

Work With Us: This is a presentation/workshop including applications and interviews for the children. Through this process, many children will experience working with us as supporters.

Eco Citizens: This is about how we can improve the way we use the worlds’ resources. It includes making a sensory garden with the school.

We are part of bemix (formerly Skillnet Group).

This project runs within the Day Opportunities framework, Lot 2, Promoting Independence
