Cre8tive Play @ Sharen Jane's

Opened in September 2012 by Sharen Galvin who has 30 years' experience in childcare, Cre8tive Play's homely environment and welcoming team are the main aspects that parents comment on and the reason our children are happy, safe and secure when they are with us. We are all passionate about childcare and provide a professional, high quality and caring environment where children are loved and encouraged to become confident and independent.

We believe that children learn best when playing and doing the things that they enjoy. Our staff will extend your child’s play by adding a variety of additional resources and therefore giving your child a completely different learning experience.

Our aim is to provide a caring secure environment where children have the opportunity to develop to their full potential.

We encourage good manners and independence and place a large emphasis on learning through play.

We offer a personal and unique experience to all our children and parents through individual, inclusive care and education to children from 3 months to 5 years of age.

Special Needs Support

We have a dedicated SENCO Officer.  She will discuss your childs needs with you so that you can decide a plan of action together, and how best we can support any specific difficulties.

We encourage our parents to join in the learning with their children, so it is always a good idea to speak to their key person to find out what we are focusing on with their child to extend their interests and learning at home.  We provide daily feedback to our parents to let them know how their child has been while at nursery and what they have been doing during their time here.

We have a learning journal for every child, which can be viewed at any time and will be discussed at Parent's evening, which are held at the end of every term.

Our Under 2's have a contact book, which is completed daily to let parents know the following:

Food eaten

Drinks taken

Nappy changes

Naps

What they have been up to on a daily basis

EYFS stands for Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.  It is a document produced by the Government to guide staff in working with children from birth until 5 years, finishing at the end of the school reception year.  It includes Early Learning Goals that children are expected to achieve by the end of the Foundation Stage.  The EYFS helps us to plan, deliver and assess an exciting curriculum to help children progress.  The seven areas of learning are the following:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication and language
  • Knowledge and understanding the world
  • Physical development
  • Creative development
  • Maths
  • Literacy

With permission the SENCO will assess and decide the best way to help all concerned.

Our SENCO regularly attends training and meetings to support our children and parents.

We complete termly progress trackers and have a parents evening every term to discuss your childs progress and their next steps.

We ensure we have more staff available to support

We do not have disabled access at this time

We provide planned, gradual transitions when a child moves to an older room. And when a child starts school we invite the school teacher in for your child to meet.

We regularly review the services we offer our SEN children and send out half yearly parent questionnaires. These are then reviewed and acted upon where practical

Please contact either Michael Gaffney or Lesley Soper

We have a compliments and a complaints procedure.  We provide regular feedback forms to parents and have a suggestion box in the entrance.
