In our setting children are regularly assessed using the Kent Progress Tracker.
If children are observed to be falling behind in any area's we will consult with parents and support the child. This could include adapting the setting and resources and putting in support for parents.
If extra help is required we will contact outside agencies who will support children within the setting and sometimes at home.
Special Needs Support
How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
During children's time with us we are observing and assessing them all the time and noting their development. If it comes to light that a child is not making the progress that we would be expecting we will inform parents/carers straight away.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
We will have regular meetings with parents to update parents with children development.
How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
Being an old Victorian house the setting has not got easy access .
How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
Once we know where your child will be attending we will work with the school to pass over relevant information to make transition as smooth as possible. This will include a developmental tracking report that shows where your child's develop is and what we are working on the move forward.
Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?
Please either telephone the nursery or email us for information and an appointment to look around.
What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?
We ask parents/ carers to either speak to a member of stafff, telephone or email us if they have any concerns or complements they wish to pass on about the setting.
