Notes

At Belgrave Pre-school the wellbeing and safety of our children is our highest priority. We actively strive to form good relationships with parents and families which we believe will help to ensure the best possible care and development for all children. We appreciate the chance we have to share with parents in this precious time in a child’s life and take pleasure in seeing them grow into confident and capable learners. We are passionate about seeing children as individuals and therefore inclusive practice underpins everything we do. We strongly believe that with the right balance of nurturing and support every child can reach their full potential. We believe that our children deserve the best care we can provide and so we are continuously reflecting on our practice in order to maintain the high standards you would expect.

Special Needs Support

When a child starts the parents fill in an all about me form for the child, they can raise any thing they are concerned about. each child has a key person they will monitor and record all progress on the tapestry, this emails updates and can be logged in to by the childs parents. if we have any concerns we would talk to our in house special educational needs and disability coordinator and she would observe and talk to the parents. parents are welcome to come and talk about theirs child at any time with concerns.

Clare the SENDCO and your childs key person will keep you updated with regular meetings and updates as they happen any paperwork to be sent or receives will be looked at with you by Mandy

All activities are adapted to suit each childs age, stage and ability and their characteristics of learning

We use a lot of visual aids such as now and then boards and routine.

We have an in house SENDCO who supports the key person with the care of the child. we use peronalised plans and traget plans. we can admister medication after a medication consent form has been filled in and signed

Personal plans and target plans are reviewed with the parents, SENDCO and key person every 6 weeks. the person will also regularly up date the tapestry.

If we are on a trip the staff ratio would be increased to enable inclusion

We have good wheel chair access with wide doors and a small slope at the front door

The manager meets with the teachers of a childs new school the key person and SENDCO fill in a transition form to give the new school the information needed.

We have confidential questionnaires 2 time a year and parent feed back is welcomed at any time. sen is discussed at regular staff meetings.
