Special Needs Support

We monitor every child’s age & stage of development against the EYFS, April 2017, documentation.

We discuss children’s developments with their Parent / Carers to achieve a child’s best outcomes.

If needed we would then request support from outside agencies to assist in monitoring a child’s development and possible diagnosis.

Regular face to face discussions are maintained with every Parent /Carer regarding their child’s progress. Every child has a named key person who plans for that child. Should we have concerns then the setting SENCo will also monitor the child’s progress and possibly implement Target plans for the child.

Every child at Club 4 Kids Childcare is treated as an individual and they will be set targets appropriate to their age & stage of development, not necessarily their chronological age. This also applies whether they have a special educational need or are gifted & talented.

Every child has a named keyperson whom is available to discuss your child’s needs & development. We also hold regular Parent stay n play sessions where you can attend ‘working sessions’ to see first-hand the opportunities your child experiences on a day to day basis. We also have an ‘open door’ approach where, time permitting, you can discuss your child’s needs, development etc with a member of the management team. We encourage every Parent / Carer to play a major role in helping set targets for their children’s development & we will support you with strategies on how to do this.

We offer extensive additional support for all children in our care should they need it. We have many policies, too extensive to list here, that are available to Parent / Carers in supporting children with SEND or additional needs.

Every child is monitored against the EYFS, April 2017, every Parent / Carer is encouraged to be part of their child’s development.

We are an inclusive setting with inclusive practices and ensure that every learning opportunity is available to all our children, regardless of their differing needs. We have an accredited SENCo who oversees this.

We are fully accessible for wheelchair users

We have good relationships with all local nurseries /primary schools and some specialist schools and have good practices in place for all types of transitions

We gain information, where accessible, from all people (including outside agencies) involved in a child’s care, prior and during their settling in period into our setting. We set Target & Personalised plans for the child and these are monitored regularly. Our SEND provision is monitored against policies and government requirements.
