Description

All children and families are welcomed and supported to the best of our ability.   We work in conjunction with other agencies to fully support  the progress and development of all children attending.

Special Needs Support

The staff at TOSH have many years of combined experience working with children and are therefore ideally qualified to identify gaps or delays in development / progress.

Regular exchange of information is a part of our daily service for all of our children.   If we have concerns about your child's progress, we will invite you to meet with us to discuss these and then work together.

The Montessori curriculum upon which we base our ethos is well adapted enable individualised planning for all of our children.

All of our learning is differentiated for children's individual needs, regardless of SEND

We work collaboratively with outside agencies to ensure that children receive the help and support they need.  However, parents and families must also take responsibility for working with TOSH to ensure that the limited services available are accessed.

Subject to your permission we currently use an electronic app to record children's progress via photographs and written observation.   These are shared with parents on a regular basis.   The app also enables parents to share photographs and video's of their children's achievements at home and to converse with us about these.     The app records progress throughout the EYFS curriculum alongside the Montessori curriculum.

All activities at TOSH are based around individual children's needs and therefore can all be adapted to be fully inclusive.

Our building is fully accessible to all.   All rooms are on the ground floor and there are no stairs.

When children are making the transition from TOSH to primary education, we work closely with receiving schools to share information about our children.   Reception teachers are invited to visit the children here at TOSH and when possible we also visit receiving schools with our children.

Regular meetings between parents and children with SEN are held to discuss progress.
