Layla Fackrell-Palmer

Choosing a childcare provision can be a daunting, confusing and emotional time for parents/ carers and their children. By providing the following information, I hope to answer some of your questions and/ or allay some of your concerns. Naturally, you'll have many more questions, so please do ask.

I plan inclusive activities and stimulating schemes of learning that reflect the interests, abilities and learning goals of the individual children in my care. Every child will receive the support they need to have the best possible start in life & be school-ready. This will be delivered in a safe, secure and happy home-from-home environment that promotes independence and resilience. You are the expert when it comes to your child's well-being, so we will work in partnership to make sure their learning and development goals are met and that their interests are catered for.

As a qualified teacher, I am very used to differentiating my lessons to cater for the diverse needs of up to 32 young people at any given time. Your child(ren) will learn and develop skills through play and activities that follow the EYFS framework and, for older children, the National Curriculum.

I have professional and personal experience of caring for and educating children with cognitive and/ or physical disabilities. My house is an accessible, enabling environment and has a downstairs toilet fitted with mobility rails. We are an inclusive and caring family that underpins equality, fairness and consistency. Please ask my about my experience with young people that have a diagnosis of Autism, Down's Syndrome, ADHD, Social, Emotional & Mental Health Difficulties.

I offer a playroom for younger children that boasts a variety of toys, puzzles and activities. In addition, there's a 'quiet' snug for children to read, relax, watch TV or just take some time out. Lastly, there is a separate, dedicated study area, with a PC, for older children that have homework to complete. See the Gallery for pictures of our home.

My kitchen and bathrooms are always spotless so you can rest assured that this is a calm, secure, supportive and clean environment for your child to be nurtured and cared in. I can cater for all dietary requirements and as a mum to a child with a life-threatening food allergy (nuts), I know the importance of getting nutrition right regardless of it being a medical, cultural or religious requirement.

Please ask if you would like to have a look around or meet in person.

Tuition: As a qualified Science Teacher who also has experience teaching GCSE & KS3 English Language & Literature, I can offer a range of tuition to suit all ages and abilities.    Currently, I am tutoring Combined Science GCSE, Engllish Language & Literature GCSE alongside Kent Test (11+) techniques and practice. I welcome tutees to my home where there's a dedicated study area that we can use without being disturbed. As a registered childminder, all members of my household are DBS checked.    If preferable, I can travel to your home for tuition. Please ask the the areas that I serve but usually I don't travel more that 7 miles from Gravesend town centre.   In addition to GCSE & 11+, I can offer literacy, numeracy and science tuition from KS1 through to GCSE. I am familiar with EYFS curriculum too due to my childminding training.
