The Old Rectory provides a high standard of care, companionship and safety in a delightful Victorian home and gardens


We care for the elderly and ensure our residents privacy, dignity and comfort is maintained at all times


We aim to make life enjoyable and therefore the care needs of each resident is tailored to suit, we encourage our residents to play an active role in the way the home is run


Family and friends are always welcome to visit.


 The Old Rectory is a Victorian built property with a large garden .


Set in the picturesque village of Dymchurch in Kent and is within walking distance of the beautiful famous ‘Golden  Sands’.                                      


The towns of Ashford and Folkestone are only 14 miles away and are easily accessible by car or public transport..


With Ashfords International rail link providing quick access to the continent via the Channel Tunnel or Eurostar.


Our Local village of Dymchurch is within walking distance and has a very friendly community, the village is twinned with the French Town of Salbris, in which many social events are held both in the village and in France.. New twinning members are always welcomed.   There are pubs, tearooms, shops, guesthouses and a garage which all offer a wide range of supplies. There are also churches and a Royal British Legion club for your entertainment..


Celebrations in the village include the famous ‘Day of Syn’, where the locals gather and re-inact scenes from the novels of Russell Thorndyke.


The Old Rectory is a  home, run with a lovely family atmosphere.  We can accommodate up to 36 residents in single or shared rooms.    Residents can be accepted privately or through state funding.


All the rooms have their own individual character and by providing your own furniture, if you wish , you can really make them home from home.


However, we are happy to provide any furniture that you may require.. 


All the bedrooms are en-suite or have private washing facilities and television points.


There is a payphone available and residents can have their own private telephone installed in their rooms.


The home is warmly decorated and carpeted throughout and fully complies with all fire and health and safety requirements.


Each room and leisure areas are fitted with a Nurse Call System to enable each resident to summon help if required.


There is a large lounge area with conservatory overlooking the garden.


The dining room also has a conservatory and again overlooks the garden.


The home is wheelchair friendly and fitted with ramps where required.


There is a large visitors car park and unrestricted visiting times


We operate a ‘No Smoking’ policy throughout the premises and gardens.


The Old Rectory is well equipped and fitted with bath hoists,2 passenger lifts, 2 stair lifts, and other aids to help to maintain our residents comfort and independence.


All the staff are well trained and we are committed to the governments NVQ training programme.


One of our criteria of staff selection is to ensure that are staff are warm, sincere and friendly.


We have local doctors who can be called to the home when required.


There are visiting chiropodists, hairdressers, dentists, and opticians for your personal attention. Local clergymen will visit the home  if individuals require


 Various entertainment and activities are arranged throughout the year, including barbecues in our lovely gardens. We have our own vehicle for outings. We have an in-house audio, video and book library.  Residents may wish to enjoy the many events that are staged in the village or relax at home with family and friends, who are always welcome.  We have a hearing loop installed in lounge & dining areas.


There are in-house laundry facilities, which are included in the fees.  


At The Old Rectory we serve good home cooked meals which are prepared using fresh local produce.


Mealtimes are a delightful, social experience which everybody looks forward to.


A good variety of foods are served and special diets can be catered for.
