The Carers Relief Service offers a break (respite) from looking after someone with learning disabilities. The Personal Support Workers can offer help with shopping, attending hobby and leisure activities, hospital visits, going to parties, clubs, discos and support to attend college. Alternatively, they can stay in the home to enable family/spouse to enjoy outside interests or a social events.

Referrals to the service are accepted for assessment provided that the prospective user is caring for an adult with learning disabilities in their own home. Contact can be made through a Social Services Care Manager who would arrange for a Carers Relief Service Co-ordinator to visit, or directly with our offices.
