Herne Bay Umbrella Centre

We offer a series of activities, outings and advice sessions which members can attend. These include cookery, encompassing the budgeting, shopping and education on a nutritional diet as well as the practical cooking of the meal in line with both the Six Ways to Wellbeing and the Food Champions scheme we have running at the centre, as well as arts, crafts, music, IT, relaxation techniques, drama therapy, gardening at the centre and at our two gardening sites and woodwork which takes place at our woodwork workshop. Rethink, Shaw Trust and Turning Point all access the centre and offer help and advice to our members as well.

All activities are structured to suit the client group in attendance and are facilitated either by staff members or, in some cases, by specialist volunteers who have training or a qualification in certain areas and the activities offered are reviewed on a regular basis by staff as well the members during their regular members meetings.
