Our Nursery, ASC and HPS provides a welcoming environment to all.
We know that children are learning before they come to us from their family and the environment in which they live and we acknowledge the varying lifestyles that encourage this learning. Our aim is to work alongside our parents and carers offering affordable childcare for all at a fair price to achieve the best outcomes for children in our care.
Our curriculum is based around the children’s individual interests, with the key-person supporting the children in collaboration with the parents and main carers of the child. Using observations to plan the environment, implementing a variety of activities to help develop this.
All observations are available on our free Parent zone app. If you do not have access to this, we will print these for you. On Parent zone is also a record of any meals, sleep and daily routines which your child has had while in the setting, this is published on a daily basis. This app also gives you access to share photographs, comments and observations from you regarding your child’s time at home. This will also feed into our planned targets and activities for them.
We plan for each child individually, basing the environment and the activities around what they already know and enjoy, using Development Matters as a guide to enure children are moving in the right direction and are at a good level of learning which is right for them.
To ensure that a universal level of provision is met, the nursery SENCo team will be informed and may implement personalised/individual strategies to support the individual childrens needs. We complete a progress check at 2 years and a termly report on your child’s development. Offering six monthly parent consultations to discuss your child's development and any concerns you may have. Through observations and getting to know your child we are able to show progress each child has made, and each year group through our online program which enables us to evaluate how well we are providing for our children.
We offer activities, which leads to nationally approved learning outcomes and prepares children to progress with confidence to the national curriculum at the age of five years.
Working towards three prime areas: Communication and language: Physical development: Personal, Social and Emotional development; and supporting children through specific areas: literacy: mathematics: understanding the world: expressive arts and design:
All these areas of learning and development are important and are inter-connected, and are crucial for developing children’s curiosity and learning experiences.
Our building is a single storey building, with double doors to all garden areas, The toilets are height appropriate which assist all levels of toileting ability.
Our nursery has three main nursery rooms which operate all year around, Ducklings for our babies 0.3 mth to 2 years. Caterpillars for our 2 - 3 year olds and Butterflies for our 3 to pre-school. We also have a term time only room Ladybirds which is a mixed age range of 2 to pre-school, mornings only.
When the children are moving into a new room, we will spend some time getting them used to their new environment by short visits with their key-person. When they have their big move into primary school, we will do so with a positive attitude, ensuring that we help to get your child excited for the next stage of their journey. We work in depth at helping your child realise the skills they have which are needed for school and future life. We contact all new reception teachers to arrange for them to come in to meet the children here and complete in-depth reports to send to the schools so that they have an insight into the wonderful personalities which we are nurturing.
