Special Needs Support

From initial visits to close observations of children's interactions with the preschool environment.

Sometimes over a period of time but always through conversations/consultations with parents and external specialists.

Speech and language difficulties are supported as are children on the lower end of the autistic spectrum.

Please note we are not a specialist preschool and restrict the number of children with additional needs.

The manager and curriculum planning officer along with your child's individual key person work to provide interesting, motivational and inspiring activities that engage your child and kick start their thought and problem solving processes. We keep you up to date on your child's progress via our on-line developmental journal, through conversations with parents, meetings with external specialists and termly reports.

Every child deserves a different experience from preschool and your child's Key person will be closely monitoring their development and their individual needs to ensure they love their time with us

Individual time, secluded time, small group time and a variety of teaching methods are used custom built for each individual child's needs.

You can come and chat with your child's key person or their buddy within the mini community groups. We prefer either at the start of any session if you have information that we may need to know that may affect them during the sessions with us or at the end of any session/day. During COVID 19 these may be via zoom.

We love parents to come and stay and play for sessions so that they can be involved in their child's learning.

Children's development is reviewed every week and next steps are re-assessed every 6 weeks.

We don't have any specialist staff within the setting.

Our setting provides an inclusive environment where all are welcome and celebrated.

We have a ramp access to our room, toilet doors are wide and allow access.

We contact all transitional schools to ensure smooth steps up to "Big School'

Parents are involved in every step of our processes with regards to joining/during and transitions to the next setting.
