How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
Closely working with parents and outside professionals helps us to work in partnership to identify children with additional needs or SEND and buiding up a portfolio of the individual childs needs. With permission from the parent this info would be taken to a lift meeting to gain further information and help in how to support the child and give them the best possible start in the nursery and to help them achive as much as possible.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
Meeting will be held regually and information shared with parents. The key worker will work closely with the parent and Nursery SENCO.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
We follow the lead from suggestions and training that has been attended on particular needs to suit the individual child.
What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
Some one to one work. Specialist equipment may be acquired and following the childs individual plans to help reach their full potential.
How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
Progress checks are carried out regularly and individual meeting with parent/carer to discuss future plans.
How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
Adapt activities to meet their needs. Give one-one care for required time it is needed. Fully interact the child in everything they are able to do and with help.
How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
Fully accessible including disabled toilet.
How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
Will attend transition meetings with school to ensure school are fully aware of the childs needs and the stages they are at.
How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
Attending regular send drop in meetings. keeping up to date with legislation. Talking to professionals, gaining any information required.
