Special Needs Support

I have trained my self how to identify children with SEN , and how to apply additional support for their needs and to advice parents on child's difficulties and other needs .

I my self have 2 of my own children that both have EHCP plans and one of these I actually put in my self  , I have a good understanding of there needs and how to best support them as I know with my own children that a child with SEN can be extra sensitive to what's going on around them and I will ensure they feel safe and at ease in my care

I provide sensory stimulating toys ,sensory tent with different sensory lights which creates a calming atmosphere.

For Early years

They all have their own contact book, with what we have done each day, meals , nappy changes ,sleep etc .

I will give regular progress up dates with you  informing you of next steps and what we are currently working on so you can also support your child at home with their next steps.

I give children little fun activities to do at home which will tie in with their next steps and help them along with their development.

I have lots of different resources and plan lots of activities to support every child in their development, whether is be mathematics, literacy , speech  understanding  the world, personal social development, physical development and Expressive arts and design and I will assess their progress each term to ensure they are progressing as they should.

For all children I have a closed private FB page just for parents who's children are in my setting, so I can add photos of what they are doing each day , I can add advice on covid and fairly menu for lunch and dinner

Setting out next steps, making sure they achieve them and tracking you child's progress.

When a child first starts in my setting foe the first few weeks I will assess then with a baseline assessment so I can get a good idea where a child is in their development ans what things would be best to work on next to bring them along and to make sure they feel happy and safe in my care
