I strive to provide as much help as I can for children in my care, both with special educational needs or disabilities.
Special Needs Support
How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
The children's progress is continuously monitored. If a child is falling below expected levels I will discuss the best course of action.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
I use both my online platform, Babysdays, phone messages and emails to inform you of any concerns. You are also welcome to contact me if you have any concerns.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
Each child is planned for individually, I include the child's interests to promote learning.
I will carry out further research and training where necessary and if you receive professional help with organisations or other professionals it would be helpful if you could share with me any help you are given,
What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
I like to include all the children in the setting. I will adapt activities and outings to meet all ages and developmental stages.
I will keep in contact with you at regular intervals using Babysdays and emails.
What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
I am happy to work with you and any other professionals to help promote your child's development.

How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
I use Babysdays and email to monitor your child's progress. One to one meetings or phone calls can also be arranged.
How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
All actvities and outings can be adapted.
How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
Unfortunately access is limited in my setting. It is not suitable for wheelchair users.
How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
I am happy to complete a transition report to promote school readiness during their final term at the setting.
We encourage letter recognition, numbers, writing, letter and colour work in everyday activities and outings.
I encourage independence with things such as putting coats and shoes on.
How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
I encourage open discussion at the setting and parents are welcome to talk to me about any concerns or ideas they have.
