Other facilities information
Some of our facilities have recently be refurbished. We have access to a lovely self contained courtyard which we make use of daily, we also have private access to a small woodland area for us to explore safely. The toilets have been relocated and the children have direct access from the main hall, this ensures the children can become as independant as they are capable of.

We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and take children from all areas. We cater for all children and each child is treated as individual. Every child is given a Key Worker and Buddy who will work alongside your child to give them the best possible outcome.

Special Needs Support

Each child has a keyworker who will speak to you if you they think your child is learning more slowly than they should. They will let you know what they are doing to address your child's area of weakness.

If your child doesn't progress despite well-targeted teaching, the SENCO will action the next stage of support.

The SENCO will work with your child's keyworker to assess whether your child has special educational needs. They will do this by talking to you and your child and accessing your childs progress and behaviour. This is not the formal education, health and care assessment.

We will tell you if we think your child has additional needs and about what action we plan on taking.

All activities are risk assessed and appropriate provisions are made to ensure all children have access to additional resources as required.

This ensures they can fully participate in any activities provided and reach the best possible outcomes.

All activities are differenciated to meet the ages and stages of develpoment for each child in session.

Communication between Carers and Staff ensures the support offered is relavent and inclusive. Staff are available to speak too on a daily basis both before and after session. We use an online platform to manage all childrens progress and staff quickly identify any children who may be struggling.

Children are offered additional support and resources to enable thier full participation in the setting.

We follow a strong positive behaviour policy and have strong network of support to be able to provide children and families with the help they need, when they need it.

If necessary, Star charts and Targeted plans are used to ensure positive outcomes for the child.

Comprehensive transition from Nursery to Primary School

Your childs Key Person and Senco will work together to provide differenciated support and strattergies to enable your child.

Your childs Key Person will keep you informed of any support offered.

After risk assessments any further support is provided to ensure all children can participate in all activities.

Building is wheelchair accessible, although some provisions would need to be made for long term placement.

We believe in a strong transition programme. This starts the term before starting school and includes trips to the new school, meet new teachers, classrooms, the new teachers even come to visit us at pre-school! Additional transition days have been arranged for children who have been accessed as needing them, you will be spoken to prior to this if necessary.

The setting completes audits which identify what we do well and what improvements we can make.

We keep communication open with parents and implement ongoing changes to ensure we provide the best environment we can.

In the first instance, please email the setting.

Please let us know if you have concerns or think your child will require additional support. This will ensure we are better placed to offer this from the day they start.

First contact is the Setting Supervisor or Deputy. The Committee Chair will be happy to assist where possible.
