Primrose Horticultural Project supports adults with a learning disability. The Project works with people to build their confidence develop skills and broaden opportunities. The Project is based on an allotment used to grow seasonal fruit, vegetables and flowers. Participating in the Project offers:
- Exercise, relaxation and reducing stress
- Meeting other people with an interest in growing plants and learning from them
- Better understanding where food comes from, how to grow it, healthy eating and cooking
- Learning about year-round gardening
- Skills to work as a team
Primrose can be particularly beneficial for adults living with mental illness or challenging behaviour.
