Porchlight

Porchlight offers a free telephone 24 hour helpline for people who are street homelessness, sofa surfing or about to lose their home.

We are Porchlight, Kent’s largest charity for homeless and vulnerable people. We’re here for people who have nowhere to go and no-one to turn to. Some are living on the streets, others need our support to prevent or resolve any issues that could put them at risk of homelessness.

We can’t do any of this without you.

Information, advice and guidance is provided to enable you to find accommodation that meets your needs and keeps you safe from harm. Support is available to develop life long skills to break the cycle of homelessness, isolation, or feeling unable to cope with day-to-day living.

In addition the service sources suitable tenants for landlords.

Includes Porchlight adolescent wellbeing service.

Help for young people (13-18) to overcome mental health and wellbeing-related issues that are affecting their education, home life or relationships with family and friends. We use CBT and DBT-informed techniques to help young people improve their wellbeing, become more confident and develop tools to overcome similar issues in the future. We can also help families improve relationships with the young person in their life and get support for other things that are affecting them (housing problems, money and benefit worries, etc).

Referrals are made through the Kent Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), delivered by the North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT).
