Ashford Allotment Society

The Society exists to represent allotment tenants to the council, and to further the enjoyment of allotment gardening by its members. All allotment tenants with plots held from Ashford Borough Council are members unless they specifically request otherwise.

The Society runs a Trading Store which buys gardening supplies in bulk and passes on the savings to the Scheme’s members. Membership of the bulk buying scheme is open to all, not just Society members.

The Society has a summer produce show and autumn pumpkin show. The autumn pumpkin show is open to all. The summer show is open to all members to exhibit, and admission is open to the general public.

The Society currently co-operates with the Pilgrim’s Hospice in fund-raising events.

The Society has a website which offers information and advice to allotmentholders, would-be allotmentholders, and all interested gardeners.

The society currently has an annual general meeting and several meetings of the committee each year.
