Kirsty Rachel Howard

Do you want a small setting for you child?
I have been a registered childminder for 15 years, but have always worked in childcare either as a private nanny or in nurseries.

I like to take the children out to various places including parks, wildlife parks, the beach, forest and lots of other places. We like to do crafts and I have an enclosed garden. I meet up with another childminder every day so I have a home from home setting but the children also benefit from playing with other children in larger groups.

Please take a look at my Facebook page to see some of the places we go and activities we do.

Special Needs Support

I regularly monitor your childs development - which includes termly reports, a 2 year check and general day to day development.

I complete regular training on SEND and with my experience this helps me to identify if your child has SEND.

I will talk to you on drop off and collection times and I use 'Baby Days' to let you know about your childs day, with photos and their developmental progress. I can also arrange a time for a phone call to talk to you if it's easier.

The EYFS is an educational framework which allows me to plan for your child. I observe, assess and plan for your child within the 7 specified areas.

I will adapt my setting to ensure that your child receives the best learning and teaching for their needs.

I keep all training up to date and would do specific training for your child if needed. I will also work with other professionals that may be involved in your childs needs.

I use the online 'Baby Days' system, which allows me to put all of your childs progress and development onto. You have a personal log in just for your own child, where you can view your childs progress and photos . It also allows you the opportunity to comment and give feed back.

All activities and trips are planned and will be adapted if needed to meet your childs needs.

Unfortunately my setting is not accessible for wheelchair users.

I will communicate with the new setting and pass on tracker and progress reports.

I regularly evaluate and assess my setting. I ask parents to complete a questionnaire to help with this.

You will need to contact myself. We can then arrange a time for you to come and visit my setting and discuss settling in days etc.

I use questionnaires for feedback. I also welcome comments on drop off / pick up.

A parent recently commented on how happy their child looks in photos and that they are very happy with the varied activities and trips that we do.
