Age UK day centres offer a range of optional activities depending on people’s interests and you can go once a week or sometimes more often. Lunch, tea and coffee are included. Entertainment is also regularly provided by local performers, and relevant talks given by local authorities such as the Police and the Fire Brigade. Also occasional outings. Transport can be provided to the day centre. You would usually need to be visited to make sure it is suitable for you. You can also try it out for 2-3 weeks to see if it’s your cup of tea. Day centres also offer subsidised personal services to older people; you do not have to use the day centres to use these services
Activities may include board games, outdoor games, reminiscence sessions, exercise to music, debates, art and craft. Services may include baths, chiropody and hearing aids (some of these may be offered at the Age UK Tonbridge offices rather than the day centre).
