How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
The childrens progress is monitored within the setting using progress trackers and regular reviews, if a child a falling below expected levels we will discuss the best cause of action to take and sign post to relevant help and assistance.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
We complete regular progress reviews where you can add any concerns that may arise.
We can also provide a daily contact books for you to pass on any messages.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
We plan for each individual childs needs which can be adapted when and where required this includes the childs interests to help encourage and promote learning.
What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
We are an inclusive practise and will adapt all activities and outings to meet all ages and stages of development. This includes cultural preferences.
You will be kept updated on your childs day with regular whatsapp posts to help you feel included in your childs learning.
What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
We offer individual planning and have experience with targeted planning and working in partnership with other specialist providers. We invite specialist teachers into the setting who need monitoring within the learning environment. We also work along side the specialist teachers to delver the additional support that may be required.
How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
Regular reviews, verbal discussions and parent questionnaires.
How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
All activities/outings are adaptable to all ages stages and ability.

How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
We use transition reports and promote school readiness during the final terms before school. Quite often we collect from the schools the children will be attending so that children are used to the external school environment.
We teach independent skills, letter recognition, phonic, handwriting skills. We have a uniform and homework system in place to help with the transition.
How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
We have a good relationship with our parents and encourage open discussion of any concerns.

We have regular parents views forms and a comments book available. We also use daily diaries to pass messages if needed.
