Care4kids Childcare

Care4kids Childcare has been created to be a warm and homely environment, mirroring homelife. We endeavour to make the setting a tranquil and calm space for the children using soft lighting, pants, natural and authentic resources, helping the children to feel relaxed with a sense of belonging. We have a team of passionate and motivated staff providing children with a wonderful and inviting opportunity to get involved with activities. We believe that a calming atmosphere gives children the opening to learn, rather than play in an over stimulating environment with bold colours which can become loud and overwhelming.

Ethos of the nursery

We aspire to create a home from home here at Challock Pre-School. With the love, respect and comfort that children would experience in their own homes. We strive to provide optimum learning opportunities while allowing the children to grow, develop and flourish into unique individuals. Everyone at Challock Pre-School has a voice that is heard, from children to staff.

Care4kids Childcare have 5 main values

  • Everyone has a voice that us heard and valued
  • Happy children, happy families, happy staff
  • Working in partnership/making good local connections
  • Showing kindness and respect for all
  • Equality and Inclusion for all

Special Needs Support

Care4kids Childcare work on a key person and buddy system. Any concerns around a child's well-being or development will be brought to the setting SENCo by the key person and/or buddy.

We use progress trackers to monitor children's developments and achievements. This is used to highlight any areas that a child may appear to need support.

Once the area of support has been identified by the SENCo, we will begin the necessary steps to introduce either targeted or personalised support. Care4kids Childcare work very closely with outside professionals.

Care4kids Childcare have an open-door policy for all parents and carers to being any concerns or queriers to whoever it may concern, at any time.

Your child’s progress is available to view via your online account on babysdays. This is a live account that is updated throughout your child’s day at nursery with pictures, observations, general notes and reminders. Communication is easy and instant between parents/carers and nursery.

We have a parents Facebook page that is regularly updated with information on the setting, pictures of your children and lots of example of our curriculum and the approach we choose to follow.

If any concerns are raised with a child’s development or well-being, face to face appointments can be made with your child's key person or SENCo to discuss further support.

If we feel that your child's needs are not being met at a universal level, we will introduce targeted or personalised support. This is in line with the Best Practise guidance.

Care4kids Childcare work closely with outside professionals for educational, physical, social, emotional and mental wellbeing support and development.

Once we have established that your child still requires support beyond a targeted level then referrals will be made to the relevant professionals.

At Care4kids Childcare we use the Best Practise Guidance Handbook for teaching strategies. We also liaise with outside agencies and professionals for strategies.

Care4kids Childcare will work closely with with educational professionals to set SMART targets. Your child will be placed on a targeted or personalised plan to track progress and development.

The setting can apply for SENIF (Special education needs inclusion funding) This funding can be used towards specialist toys and equipment and enhanced ratio's to best support your child.

At Care4kids Childcare we use in the moment planning and focus week to plan and record your child's progress and development. We will inform you when your child is going to have a focus week and a focus form is sent to you. Focus forms are a good opportunity for parents to be involved with their child's progress and allow the setting to get to know what your child's interests are. Once focus week is over parent and carers are sent feedback forms which allows discussion around your child's progress.

Care4kids Childcare use your child's interests at the heart of their planning and development.

For children who are on a targeted or personalised plan, these are reviewed every 6 weeks. Parents are carers are encouraged to be involved in their child's review process. The review meeting will take place with the child's parents/carers, key person and the setting SENCo.

Children with additional needs or SEND are extremely well supported at Challock Pre-School. Staff are kept up to date with relevant training and information to ensure children are supported.
