I follow the Early Years Foundation stage, and I ensure all activities available are accessible  to every child in my care. All parents will receive regular updates, photos and short observations to show your child’s progress through their next steps, I also work closely with parents to ensure any additional help for the child is sought if needed and achievement reports are completed twice a year for parents records.

I am fully insured and DBS checked.

Special Needs Support

During the registration process I will ask parents to complete their child's starting points. This will pinpoint your child's development currently and give me an idea on where I can start planning to further your childs learning.

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and will use this document when uploading photos and short observations for parents regularly. If any additional help is needed for your child I will meet with you in person to discuss the next steps.

All activities planned are available for all children to join in and encouragement will be given to ensure your child has every opportunity to further their learning whilst in my care. Changes will be made to suit your child's individual needs as and when needed. For example table top activities will be moved to the floor if your child is unable to access the table to take part.

My approach to every child is adapted to suit their individual needs and level of understanding upon every interaction.

Targeted plans will be completed to ensure that I have all the relevant information available to me to ensure I can provide quality care to your child that will benefit them and their learning.

photos and short observations are added to the shared online system regularly to update parents on their child's progress. Parents are also encouraged to add their own observations and photos to the system if they wish to.

Health and safety risk assessments are completed for every trip to ensure that all children are kept safe whilst out and and about.

My home has extra large doorways that are suitable for wheelchair users, I also have a downstairs bathroom and minimal steps to access the main play spaces.

End of year reports are completed and given to parents to pass over to the new school before your child's start date. These can also be sent directly to the school if you wish. I am also happy to meet with your child's new teacher prior to their start date to ensure they have all relevant information from myself in preparation to take over care of your child.

I offer regular meetings with the parents if needed to discuss the effectiveness of my care and I am also able to access outside agencies to gain further help for your child if needed.

Sarah Williams, Childminder Sarah's Little Learners.

I provide yearly feedback questionnaires for parents to share their views and I also have a compliments section on our shared online system of the parent wishes to use it.
