Kent Youth County Council

Kent Youth County Council (KYCC) is a group of young people aged 11 to 18 years elected to represent and act upon the views, issues and opinions of the young people in Kent.

Four young people are elected to represent each of Kent’s 12 districts. We also elect 12 community seats, ensuring KYCC is representative of all communities in Kent.

KYCC campaign on 3 issues each year, as decided during the annual election process, as well as working on a number of smaller projects. These campaigns and projects include topics such as mental health, environment, curriculum for life and improving public transport.

Members meet monthly at County Hall, Maidstone to work on their campaigns and projects. They are also regularly involved in other opportunities to ensure the voice of young people is heard within decision making processes across services which are provided by Kent County Council.

If you are interested in finding out more about KYCC, the current campaigns and how you can get involved then please contact Claire Tanton by emailing or completing our register your interest form. For future updates about KYCC you can also sign up to receive one of our newsletters.
