I am NNEB qualified (NVQ L3 equiv). I have been caring for other people's children for over 31 years. I started my working life in 1992 as a Nanny working for some amazing families over the years, including a position at Benenden Girl's School and working for British Diplomats on a home posting.
At the height of my career I interviewed for Jemima Khan and to care for the late Bobby Moore's Grandchildren. I decided on a slightly more down to earth position and worked for 5 years for a Baron between their houses in London, Kent and Scotland.
After having children of my own, I became a registered childminder. First and foremost though, I am a Mummy. I now know how hard it is for any parent to leave their precious little one and return to work. I like to think I support my parents as much as I can. I absolutely love my job, although they all seem to be growing up very quickly at the moment!
I am registered with Ofsted. While I would regard myself as a professional childcarer, I like to maintain a very relaxed 'home from home' environment for the children I care for. This is, in my opinion, the most suitable form of childcare for young children. We keep very busy with messy activities, singing and dancing, stories and outings to name but a few. Most importantly I give the children lots of love and pay attention to their individual needs and interests.
All pre school children have:
Daily diary and photographs
2 year old development check (EYFS requirement)
All of these are intended to be an informal two way flow of information between myself and parents which can be kept to look back on in years to come.
