Childminder

Working as a childminder puts me in a good position to ensure that i can tailor activities to ensure that your child gets the most learning from both planned activities and help from routines in the home, such as laying the snack table and tiding toys etc.

I am regularly encouraged to complete training, I have completed Autism awareness organised by the childminding Collaboration

If your child is making insufficient progress through a targeted plan, i would discuss with you would need to change and discuss about agencies

Your consent is require in order for referrals to outside agencies

Your childrens learning journey will be monitored together and can be seen at any time, your childs daily diary can has a progress chart and pages to voice your child's progress and wow moment at home

I pride myslef on my relationship with parents and would discuss possibly doing a workshop or training along side the parents

We regularly take trips to the beach and when ever we have new children I revise the health and safely risk assessment to take account of any new conditions that may cause children to be at risk.

Unfortunately I have a step into my setting and no downstairs bathroom, so access to the building would be difficult but not impossible, this would have to be discussed with he parent / carers

 Planned visits to the school

complete progress chart can be given to the parents to take to the childrens new school

we can practice dressing up in the new school uniform and learn all about the school

Review policies and procedures

regular parents and childminder assessment visits

ongoing training

All children have Settling in sessions, and sometimes a visit to the child at home

Apply for funding under the Disability Access Fund (DAF) and discuss this with the parent how this funding will be used.

Arrangements for assessment for additional funding

My setting has a open door policy and questionnaires for parents, keeping the setting running smoothly and opening for the parents to help make the setting run  smoothly
