Across both sites we can offer 30 hours.  At our Minster site, we offer extended funding from 8.00 - 15.30, the maximum we will offer is 21/30 hours, however, you may wish to use both our sites and if you are entitled to receive 30 hours funding, you can access 12 hours at our Abbey site and 28 hours at our Minster site.  We offer a very flexible approach to childcare to suit the needs of our families.

Special Needs Support

We are an inclusive setting, we support children with educational and health complex needs.  We source our training from hospitals and parents to ensure we are equipped to support any child that attends our setting. We have extensive knowledge and are willing to add to this to ensure children can access early years education. 


We follow the Kent Graduated Approach and work with families ensuring the child is at the centre of everything that occurs. 


  • Online learning journey (Tapestry).
  • Informal chats at drop off and pick up times. 
  • Telephone conversations.
  • Regular catch up meetings.
  • Involvement in the targeted and personalised plans.
  • Facebook/social media.
  • Parents evening/afternoons.
  • Targeted and personalised planning with input from outside agencies eg SALT, STLS, OT, Portage.
  • Adaption to the environment if possible.
  • Purchase of resources if required.
  • use of Makaton signing. 
  • Senco/Keyperson to ensure that strategies from outside agencies are included in personalised support.
  • Communication in Print symbols are used on staff keyrings and on individual timetables. 
  • Individual and small group activities. 
  • Quiet spaces in all areas of the setting. 
  • ensure close working relationships between the Key Person, Senco and parents/carers
  • information eg training opportunities from Children's Centre
  • Working in partnerships with Specialist Teaching Service
