School Nursing Service

We are a team of school nurses who work with children, young people and families. The focus is to promote and protect health and wellbeing and prevent ill health. All school nurses are qualified nurses, with specialist training in public health.

We offer health assessments for all children and families to find out any health needs you may have, school-based support for individual pupils, health clinics, extra support for families needing more help where there is a health concern, self-referral, immunisations, health education and promotion and confidential advice for young people.

We carry out immunisations for children and young people throughout their school life, from reception year to year 10. We also provide advice, support and signposting on behaviour management, emotional health and wellbeing, puberty and growing up, healthy eating and lifestyle and sexual health.

Where to go

The clinics and schools where children and young people are seen are fully compliant with DDA requirements for wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities.  Not all clinic areas would have changing facilities available.
