Canterbury Society of Art

We meet weekly (except in August) for demonstrations, talks and practical evenings. We normally hold two exhibitions a year, but held none in 2020 and will hold only one in 2021, at the Horsebridge, Whitstable, in November.  Our aim is to encourage a practical interest in drawing, painting, sculpture and related disciplines.

We offer a varied programme of events for around 40 weeks a year, arranged in two sessions, from March to July and September to February.

The programme includes talks, demonstrations, practical painting sessions, including life drawing of costume and nude models and critiques. We believe our programme is more comprehensive than any other art society in the area and offers excellent value for a very reasonable subscription. We welcome everyone from complete beginner to professional artist.

Suitable for anyone aged 16 and over.
