We welcome all children into our Giggles Family, we work closely with our families to ensure their child's needs can be met fully throughout their time with us.
We have some experience in previous jobs working with children with additional needs and SEND. We form strong relationships with our families and there is always time to discuss any concerns we might have and work closely together to get the support your child and your whole family might need. We have links with our local Children's Centre so would be able to involve outside agencies should your family welcome some extra support. We have small adult to child ratio's here to enable us to get to know your child really well, helping us to identify their needs and act upon them nice and quickly.
Ria (Maria Stolton) is the owner of Ria's Giggles and she will work very closely with you to enable your child to get their need's met. You will have a show-around of our setting and make sure it is right for your little ones needs. We create learning Journey's for all children at Ria's Giggles so you can see your child's progress. We use Baby Days, an online system to create an instant sharing of information between us and you, again to ensure you are well informed of what is happening and how we can all support your child's needs both at our setting and at home.
We work very much on a personal level with each and every one of our children in the Giggles Family, we plan termly to suit each and every child's current needs.
All staff at Ria's Giggles are available to discuss your child's needs every day your child attends. We also offer termly reports where we share more detailed info from your home and from your childs time at Ria's Giggles with each-other.
The staff at Ria's Giggles will be regularly updating and building their knowledge by attending different training courses to enable them to consistently be providing the best care they can, in order to meet your child's individual needs.
We observe your child on a day to day basis and we keep little records on Baby Days, then each term we gather all these achievements together and have a little reflection time on how your little ones are achieving and what we can do to support them over the next term. Then we plan some exciting and engaging activities to support those needs.
As we plan on such an individual basis termly we can ensure we provide inclusion in all areas and make plans to make the environments and activities accessible to your child's individual needs.
We currently aren't a wheelchair accessible setting, however we welcome all families into our Giggles Family and so would welcome you for a visit to see if we can meet your child's individual needs.
We make sure we have contact with all other settings your child attends. We write to them to share your child's termly report and with your permission we share ideas and next steps to ensure a consistent flow between us all. We write a record of transfer for your child as they leave our setting to school. We share all we have learnt about your child and their need's to give them a nice head start on getting to know your child, this initiating a smoother transition between settings.
We would welcome a family with English as an additional language and we would plan for your families needs accordingly. We might access sign language training/ introduce some visual aids in order to make the communication more accessible for us all.
We send out questionnaires on BabyDays to give you lots of opportunity for feedback, we want to work closely with you and strive to improve our setting in order to be the best we can be, we want to know what works and doesn't so we can update and change our practise accordingly.
