The Fenner Frost Foundation

The aim of The Fenner Frost Foundation is to support people with a learning disability to develop the skills required to access paid employment opportunities. The charity has set up a vinyl record shop in Sittingbourne High Street, which also has a teaching space attached. Here learners are involved in all aspects of running a shop. They are assisted to identify and source stock, serve customers (both face to face and online), handle money and undertake general shop duties. In addition learners work towards nationally recognised qualifications whereby they can build on their skills so that they are suitably equipped to apply for jobs

The Fenner Frost Foundation knows that relationships are of key importance to people with learning disabilities and essential for their wellbeing, but these relationships come in many different forms. Being around other people encourages people with learning disabilities to develop their social skills. Developing social skills helps them to make friends and helps them to integrate into the community. People with learning disabilities are less likely to feel lonely or isolated if they have friends, family and carers to support them.

Our maximum amount of learners on any one day is six, who are supported by two members of staff.
