The Kent and Medway Healthy Workplaces programme is a FREE workplace health and wellbeing offer that has been commissioned by Kent County Council, endorsed by Public Health England and is operated by Medway Council’s Public Health Team. The programme is open to all workplaces in Kent and Medway, regardless of size and sector and supports workplaces in finding ways for staff to be healthier at work. Evidence suggests that a workplace with a staff wellbeing programme can benefit from improved staff productivity, reduced sickness absence and improved staff engagement.
By participating in the ‘Kent and Medway Workplace Wellbeing Award’, organisations commit to a number of pledges at each Award Level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) which cover 8 central themes key in supporting staff health and wellbeing, and receive a certificate for each award level once evidence is uploaded. Organisations gain access to resources and support ranging from Stop Smoking support, mental health training spaces, our staff wellbeing survey, seminars, policy and resource support, our monthly newsletter, access to our well-being kiosk, healthy eating advice and coordination of support from our partners - such as to liaise workplace health checks and physical activity challenges (via One You Kent and Kent Sport respectively). Support is tailored to the needs of the individual workplace.
