Whitfield Wise Owls is a Teacher led Pre-school opening in January 2021. Providing Early Years educational places for 2, 3 and 4 years olds. We have a highly qualified and experienced team of Early Years practitioners who are passionate about providing every child with the best start in education, building on each child's individual skills and interests. We work closely with Parents/Carers developing strong positive relationships with them as we believe that good communication is key to ensuring that every child is able to make good progress and thrive throughout their journey with us. Our environment and learning experiences are carefully planned and thought out in order to provide a range of stimulating, challenging and inclusive activities for all children. Our vast experience in Early Years has helped us to establish strong links with other professionals and agencies and an expansive knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Whitfield Wise Owls Pre-school is situated in the Whitfield Community Hall in the village of Whitfield Dover. An extremely well maintained hall with good facilities both indoors and out including a safe, enclosed garden area. The hall includes disabled access, toilet and nappy changing facilities, kitchen area, a good size indoor space with natural light and low ceilings which is conducive for creating a relaxed atmosphere for children's learning to take place. We have a vast range of resources to promote learning and development in all areas and to support varying ages, stages and individual needs.

FF2’s: Some 2 year olds can get up to 15 hours of childcare free per week over 38 weeks of the year (Term Time only) and is available to two year olds who meet the governments criteria. To find out if your child is eligible or to make an application you will need to visit the Child Care Choices website. If you require help with this process don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to assist you further with you application. If your child’s eligibility is confirmed you will receive a confirmation email or pdf which you must provide to Wise Owls along with your child’s birth certificate for us to verify the details and submit the funding claim for your child. Days and session times will then be agreed with parents. Parent declarations must be completed and signed once a term to ensure funding continues. It is a parents responsibility to inform us and Kent County Council of any changes to circumstances which could affect eligibility for funding. Free For Two places can be taken in the following way:
5 sessions per week 9-12pm or 1230-330pm Mon to Friday or
Two full days 9-3pm and one half day session 9-12pm/1230pm-330pm per week
Universal funding:
All 3 to 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours free early Years childcare and education per week over 38 weeks of the year (Term Time Only) from the term after they turn 3. We will require a copy of your child’s birth certificate to apply for the funding. Parent declarations must be completed and signed once a term to ensure funding continues.
Universal funding can be taken in the following way:
5 sessions per week 9-12pm or 1230-330pm Mon to Friday or
Two full days 9-3pm and one half day session 9-12pm/12.30pm-3.30pm per week
Extended Funding:
Some 3 and 4 year olds are eligible for 30 hours free childcare and education a week. To find out if your child is eligible or to make an application you will need to visit the Child Care Choices website. If your child’s eligibility is confirmed you will receive a confirmation code which you must provide Wise Owls with along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate. We can then verify the code with your permission and apply for the funding. Days and session times will then be agreed with parents. Parent declarations must be completed and signed once a term to ensure funding continues. It is a parents responsibility to inform us and Kent County Council of any changes to circumstances which could affect eligibility for funding. 5 Full days 9-3pm Mon-Friday
In the case of funding it is the parents responsibility to make and complete the appropriate and necessary applications and to provide the Pre-school with the required evidence. In cases where a child is attending more than one provision parents must inform us of this so we can ensure we only apply for the correct amount of funded hours.
