The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army offers a variety of services:

The Family Tracing Service supports people who are looking for missing family members.

Job Support: From more than 1,000 locations, the Army offers tailored support to help people become job-ready, to get a job and to stay in work. As well as helping people who are experiencing homelessness, the Army supports people who have been made redundant, become ill or are experiencing a delay in getting benefits.

The Army’s cafés are great places to relax and unwind and the friendly staff make them somewhere you will want to visit again and again.

Trafficking Support: The specialist support programme for trafficked people (modern day slavery) provides accommodation, counselling, information and advice to victims. Call the 24-hour confidential helpline on 0300 3038151  if you are a victim or you suspect that someone may need assistance.

The Good Neighbour project for older people aims to tackle loneliness. Volunteers run the shopping service whereby food is purchased, brought to the older person's house and then put away. Other volunteers provide gardening services or visits to people who have been discharged from hospital.
