How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
setting has a named SENDCo who is training through KCC. children are identified through practitioner observations, use of the best practice guidance and LIFT meetings. concerns can be raised to the settings SENDCo.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
the SENDCo will work closely with families and will oversee any additional plans. the Key person will support and work with the child and implement any additional plans. support from KCC will be sought for children with identified additional or special needs.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
depending upon additional or special needs the EYFS will continue to be used alongside additional plans in order to monitor progress of development.
What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
daily liaising with practitioners. meetings can be arranged to discuss development with the key person and/or SENDCo.

through observations, assessments against the EYFS and any other relevant documents and through our online journal system tapestry. Tapestry can be accessed by parents at any time and parents are encouraged to contribute to their child's learning journal.
