Lorraine Hazel Bing

I am an Ofsted registered Childminder. I offer friendly, structured childcare in a warm, homely environment in Chelsfield, Orpington. I am well educated with a real enthusiasm for learning through play. I live at home with my husband and 3 sons, we live in a spacious house with a playroom and a large child-friendly garden. I have a range of toys for babies and children from birth upwards. We live in a semi rural location 5 minutes from Orpington High Street, Station, Parks and Playgroups. I create nutritious home cooked meals everyday.
I also provide vegan and vegetarian meals, and have experience with most allergies too.
I work with two assistants and we work together to provide a fun, stimulating, caring environment whilst covering the seven different areas of the EYFS curriculum. We are a medium sized setting offering the best of both worlds, personal to each child but the children can play and have fun with each other. We take the children out most days and we have a 14 seat mini bus for trips further a field.
We drop off and collect children from Otford Primary & Green st Green Schools. We also cover several local preschools.

Special Needs Support

At my setting each child is treated as a unique individual and each child has a key person. Their role is to develop trusting sensitive relationships with parents and children to enable respectful sharing of information. Through the use of observations and planning for their next steps we are able to identify any concerns which we will share with you and with consent we will contact other professionals if required.
If you have any concerns about your child you should speak with your child’s key person who will be able to advise you further.
We undertake a ‘progress check at 2’ which supplies parents/carers with a short written summary of their child’s development in the 3 ‘prime areas’;

  • Communication and language;
  • Physical development; and
  • Personal, social and emotional development.

We will liaise with other professionals to seek advice and support in identifying individual needs if necessary.

Your child’s key person will work with both you and your child. This relationship will ensure that we share knowledge concerning your child and their development. This knowledge begins with the “Welcome Pack” and “All About Me” joining information and continues with regular discussions throughout their time with us. This will help us to share information about your child’s strengths and needs.

Every child is viewed as unique therefore we plan for your child’s development based on observations of your child and evidence gained. The environment your child plays in, will be appropriate for their needs and additional support or resources will be supplied as appropriate.
If your child has a SEND Support Plan made for them by the SENCO and key person based on the child’s needs we will follow this and use this in our daily planning.
