Kent Coast Volunteering - Dover and Thanet - Good Neighbours Service

The Good Neighbours Service is a volunteer befriending service aimed at reducing the feeling of loneliness and isolation among older people in our community.

Our befriending service is open to anybody aged 60 or above, and our volunteer befrienders can help by:

 * Visiting you for a cup of tea and a chat
 * Going out shopping with / for you
 * Going with you for a stroll or short trip
 * De-cluttering
 * We can also support you with:

Regular chats over the phone
Helping us on the admin or organising side of things
Attending one of our monthly lunches
Our volunteers are not carers, cleaners or nurses, but can help by simply being a friend. We hope to help you gain in confidence so that you can leave the house, use technology or just to build a lasting friendship.
