Special Needs Support

It is a priority of Funfields Tiney Home Nursery to value each and every child, whilst catering to their individual needs. The childcare provider will work alongside the parent, as well as outside agencies if necessary, to guarantee all children are supported on a day to day basis.

Communication between all parties, as well as listening to the child, is essential in providing care that allows them to develop in a safe and secure environment.

The nursery can be contacted for help and advice if you wish to address any concerns you may have. Regular observation and planning will take place to make sure that children are receiving the best possible care, this will then be shared with parents to review progress from ongoing assessments.

Being registered through Tiney childcare agency also means that support is offered to both the childminder and parents. There is an app available to contact and ask any questions too.

The EYFS is a mandatory framework which sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well, and are also kept healthy and safe.

In order to be registered as a childcare provider through Tiney, Paula has completed training which covered all areas of the EYFS and has since been able to adapt her home nursery into an enabling environment to help children flourish as they grow.

Children with disabilities and those with special educational needs will have opportunities to play and join in activities along with the other children at the nursery. The childminder will access toys and special equipment to meet a child's individual needs if required, and this will be discussed with each parent/carer.

Learning tools such as visual timetables and coloured overlays for reading can also be offered if necessary.

Any extra support can be provided, as the nursery aims to work alongside the parent or carer for your peace of mind.

Paediatric First Aid training has been completed by both the childminder and assistant, therefore it is understood how important it is to have as much information as possible about the child including any possible allergies. There is a written policy in place for all medication that needs to be administered with written consent, and the permission form will be reviewed on a regular basis with changes made accordingly.

Observation, planning and assessments. Progress checks can be discussed with the childminder on a regular basis, as well as a direct line of communication so that the needs of each child can be met.

Funfields Tiney Home Nursery is committed to the inclusion of all children, including any trips or outings to new environments. All children have the right to be cared for and educated to develop their full potential alongside their peers through positive experiences, to enable them to share opportunities, join in with activities and learn alongside each other. Planning and research is essential before venturing somewhere new to make sure there are facilities which will have disabled access.

The nursery does have a downstairs toilet which can be more easily accessed. There is only a few steps which can be covered with a ramp if necessary.

There is a gradual settling in period which takes place over two weeks so that both the child and parent can feel comfortable in getting to know the nursery setting. It can be a big adjustment and Funfields understands that everyone is different, therefore if any changes needed to be made then this can be taken into account.

In order to discuss registering at Funfields Tiney Home Nursery, please contact Paula

Positive feedback is appreciated and can be given either in person or via email.

There is a complaints policy which parents will be given a copy of upon registration, as well as forms which can be completed to address any potential concerns you may have.
