16-19 Bursary Fund

Help to pay for essential education-related costs for 16 to 19 year olds at the start of the academic year and in further education or training. Cannot apply if studying at university.   The Bursary Fund can help pay for costs like:equipment for courseslunchtransport to and from school or college The bursary could be £1,200 a year if the young person is:in care or a care leaverclaimingIncome Support orUniversal Creditdisabled and gettingEmployment and Support Allowance andDisability Living Allowance If not in one of these groups, the young person could still get a bursary depending on personal circumstances.   Ask your school, college or training provider’s student support services to see if you’re eligible.   The bursary is paid directly by the school, college or training provider. They will decide how much and when it’s paid.?
