At Eureka Park we have 6 wonderful rooms. Within the nursery day the children enjoy different activities exploring these with others. Every child will have a key person who monitors their development and record this on our iconnect system. We thrive to give every child the best start to life and feel strongly about giving them enriching opportunities in the nursery to be able to have the skills before they go to school. We provide all meals which is nutritious and delicious from our very own chef who freshly prepares on site. In one of our spacious rooms we have our own sensory room which all children come and explore daily, this provides a relaxing and calming environment which helps children learn to self-regulate their behaviours which ultimately improves focus.

Local Offer
- Description
On the first visit to the nursery parents/carers will get a tour around the building and in this visit we will ask about the child(ren) and meet them.
If the child is accepted at the settling, the first settle session that the parents/carers will attend and complete a "getting to know me" form talking about the child(rens) interests, likes, and dislikes and their development stage.
We regularly complete development check points with all children, this then shows key person and parents/carers if the child has got a lower area of development from the "statutory guidance for the early years foundation stage (EYFS). We then can work on that area to help and support the child.
We have a SENCO here at the setting and any concerns/enquiry's a key person or parent/career has they would be able to go to the SENCO.
Special Needs Support
How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
Every child has a set key person, throughout their time at nursery the key person conducts the first settle session and knows about the child very well. The key person completes snapshots regularly and checkpoints as well as 2 year checks.
If your child is being supported parents/carers will be involved in setting targets for the child. Parents/carers will have the opportunity to have regular meetings with the keyperson and SENCO.
How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
We provide all children with a safe and secure environment, giving every child the best start in life.
Our nursery is able to take children from the age of 3 months to 5 years. We evaluate all children when starting at the nursery and are able to monitor the children's development throughout their time at nursery.
We are able to take a number of children with SEND at our setting, providing we are able to help and support the child giving every child the best start in life. When acepted into the centre we are able to support the child(ren) and have our very own SENCO.
How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
The EYFS allows every key person to plan for each child individually. If/when a child has a significate lower area of development the SENCO will be able to support the key person giving them ideas to support and help the child. If needed the child will go onto a support plan and this will help the child to focus on an area giving the child set targets to work towards.
What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
All our staff is trained in early years practice and regularly get up to date training on SEND focusing on individual children and having specific training for them. We use the "best practice guidance" document to support and help our teaching to the children.
We always look and continually improve our environments making sure all children have the same and equal opportunity.
As a nursery we have a wide range of resources for all children and are able to support their development. When children are receiving support from outside agencies, it may be possible to claim extra funding to buy additional resources for the child. If additional resources are need all staff are trained to lift and have the equipment in the rooms.
What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
If your child is making insufficient progress through a targeted plan the SENCO and key person may discuss with you to refer to other services eg. Speech and language. If/when your child begins to receive additional support for outside agencies they would be put from a targeted plan to a personalised plan.
With your consent we may need to go to our local inclusion team forum (LIFT) to support the child further. If the referral is accepted a specialist teacher would then visit the child at the nursery to give the them addition support.
How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
At the setting every child receives a key person, the key person will be monitoring the child’s development and helping to support them and their families best they can.
After each plan needs a review (this is normally 6-8 weeks) parents/carers will be asked to input their opinion on how it’s gone and what they would like to see next. This is normally through a meeting with the SENCO and/or key person.
How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
All staff will ensure that all activities provided are suitable and adapted to each individual child.
How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
The setting is a purpose-built building and all rooms are very open planned for children with mobility difficulties/ wheelchair users. The outdoor areas are accessible for all children, we’ve got hills/ramps in high level areas.
How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
At the setting we are able to print out every child’s learning story, this includes all snapshots, checkpoint and 2 year checks they’ve had at the setting along with the transitions from either rooms or transition form key person. Each key person completes a seamless transition with the key person completes along side the child and parent/carer, then it will be sent to the new setting/school.
How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
The staff at the setting are very good at communicating with each other to ensure all children’s needs are met. We have regular staff meetings and meetings with parents to get everyone onboard and keep everyone up to date with what we are working towards with the induvial child.
Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?
If you would like to register for a place at the nursery you will need to book a visit on our website.
We would let you know the next steps to take at the visit- we would discuss whether we would be able to accommodate you straight away or you may be put on a waiting list. This will be based on an individual basis.
What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?
At the setting we have our own online feedback form where parents/carers can give feedback. We also have a feedback box in the hallway at the nursery, this can be anonymous. Any complaints or feedback can be made through phoning, emailing or by making a face to face appointment.
